One of the requirements for attaining a Louisiana Real Estate license is “Be sponsored by a licenses real estate broker”. Does this mean employed by? Have a signed agreement? What?

I believe that would mean you need to have a friend/acquaintance or someone who is already a real estate broker in LA to sponsor or vouch for you. If you know a broker already, ask them to sponsor you. ☼AstrologerJuliAnne☼

    Sort of like employment.

The Broker has to watch over you and make sure you are following the laws. Your arrangement with that broker usually means that you pay an office fee or share your commission with them or both. glenn

i think you have to be sponsored by a licensed broker it is no big deal almost any real estate business will sponsor you it does not cost them a cent and they get a potential employee out of the deal when you pass the test. essentially you can not freelance at least that was how it was in connecticut when i took my test turkus07

You have to hang your license with a broker for the license to be valid. Essentially, work for a broker, although it will most likely be you paying him, not the other way around. Landlord
