I want to start a business in which I match tenants(car owners needing parking) with owners of garage parking spots. Would I need a broker’s license to conduct this business in Illinois? I would pretty much be a third party very similar to an apartment location service.
So what sort of license would I need if I went into business for myself? Can I just start drawing leases up and getting paid commissions for my service from the owners? I would imagine its not that easy. I currently have an illinois leasing license but I am required to be sponsored by a broker to rent apartments for owners.

I understand the roles of both the broker and the attorney, but I’m wondering if my husband-to-be and I will be able to use our skills together to start our own business.
