I am considering a career path to follow and I was just wondering. By business field I mean accountant, economist, stock broker and the like. I am decent in math, I got a B in both Algebra and Geometry, but I still get mildly confused. What math skills are needed for these jobs? Do I just need to know business math like basic addition, subtraction and those with knowing interest as well? or do I need to know a lot more. All help is appreciated.

As a person who hires others in the business area, would you consider a ticket broker as a good skill?

Before you simply answer that question, I need to give some background. Firstly, if possible, could those who answer be those who are working in the business field and look typically for business skills?

First I need to give you background on the business of a ticket broker. As an independent ticket broker, you have to carefully know markets in each city, you need to know where certain performers will sell out and won’t, (because not all cities are the same). This is a huge aspect, knowing this. Also, knowing the prices to set tickets is extremely important, as a certain cities market may be twice as much for the same performer as another city, due to income levels and other aspects.

There are many other aspects to the business which provide as great skill I think.

I realize the term, ‘ticket broker’, usually brings negative thoughts, but I want to know from the background given what you think? Is it a valuable skill worthy of putting on a resume?
