Is it unethical to use more than one broker when buying a house?
I want to buy a house and are considering using a broker to find it. Someone told me you should only use one broker. My concern is if this broker doesn’t find me my dream house, I may have to use another one later. And I can’t understand why I cannot contact more than one broker so they can all work for my interest. Is that a wrong thing to do? I want to check.

You can contact as many brokers as you want. Its a very competitive business and depending upon the broker and his or her efficiency you may take little or a lot of time to buy your house. There is no harm in contacting more than one broker. Savetheworld

Be prepared to pay commission out of pocket, both brokers will have legal claim to commission if you use two and you will not be able to close a sale until they are all paid.
While the commission is usually seller paid the buyer has to pay if they inooved more then one broker. Count on another 3% out of your pocket. Janet P

If you work with one person, have a contract for a specific period of time. After the term of the contract if you don’t like them you can move on to a different buyer’s agent. You don’t have to have a contract, but if you don’t most good agents won’t spend much effort on you because you aren’t a client of theirs. hanora
