I am starting a new job as a business broker how much should i make my first year?
I am starting as a business broker, well working in m&a’s mid market companies! making 15% of the companies cut…how much would this be? how much should i be making each year? is this a good amount?

The SMB market is operating in a tough environment right now. Very little liquidity and limited access to capital. I would say that 15% is a very lucrative fee for a broker in these conditions.
If you can close a few deals in the $1M to $5M range each year, that would net you at least a half million each year. Again, the 15% for a business broker is above the average rate of 8 to 10 percent (some earn an additional 5% on the sale of real estate.)
Best of luck with your new position.
