So, you could start evening college to gain the education; and apply for relevant jobs in organizations which are directly associated with the stock markets for the on-the-job training.

What you need to do is interview with financial companies. Banks at this point in time is a good starting point.

While you are employed they will pay for your training, licensing and some even provide tuition reimbursement programs. Although, within a bank you normally are restricted to just CD’s, mutual funds and annuities (which are insurance products). If things go well, you’ll be offered a promotion into managed money.

A stock broker, is more of an aged term. The industry has moved more towards a financial planning/advisor role.

However, if you mean a stock trader on the NYSE. Well, that’s a whole different story. You’ll need to find someone with deep pockets that has rented a seat on the exchange. Those usually go for approx. 1-5 million per year. Some companies will allow you to rent a seat from them. But they are few and far between.
